Bentgrass of Texas is owned and operated by Gerry McDowell and Karl Winge. Gerry and Karl have and still work day in and day out with golf courses who have had numerous greens problems from vandalism, salt problems, chemical reactions, disease and heat related problems. Gerry is still serving as a golf course superintendent in his 20th season at Shady Oaks in Clyde, Texas. Karl has experience in growing bent grass greens in the last six years.

Gerry and Karl wish to assist in making your sod replacement as smooth and successful as possible. Follow up service and continued support after sod replacement is a high priority with customer satisfaction being the up most importance. Our sod is grown on sand based soil and maintained at the height of cut. Our seedbed is fumigated every spring to guarantee the absolute purest bent grass sod. It is our goal to offer the highest quality bent grass sod in our region of the U.S..

We will be offering several varieties of bent grass sod. These varieties will change from season to season in our effort to meet the demands of the golf courses throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. We are certainly willing to provide bent grass through out the U.S..
